World Wide Web Consortium
The international headquarters of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) are located in Cambridge (USA), Biot (France) and Kanagawa (Japan).
W3C was founded in 1994 and develops interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential. The consortium is a forum for information, commerce, communication, and collective understanding. Its director is Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world wide web.
