The brandnew GeoEye-1 Earth-imaging satellite (…the highest resolution of any commercial imaging system…) launches on September 6, 2008 from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Google is a partner of Geoeye – so hopefully this satellite will bring new updated imagery for Google Maps soon.
