Marine Corps War Memorial

The Marine Corps War Memorial was built in 1954 to remember all soldiers of the United States Marine Corps killed in action. Its design is based on a popular photo of the „Battle of Iwo Jima“ in WWII. It is located near Arlington National Cemetery.
