This is the cool seaside house of Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone) in the movie Basic Instinct. It was last owned by Steve Fossett who died in a plane crash in 2007.

I think the location of the house is not correct – it should be the big house northwards which was owned by billionaire Steve Fossett: 157 Spindrift Road, Carmel Highlands http://www.completely-coastal.com/2009/03/open-house-sunday-basic-instincts.html
