Opened on January 1, 1892, Ellis Island became the nation's premier federal immigration station. In operation until 1954, the station processed over 12 million immigrant steamship passengers. The main building was restored after 30 years of abandonment and opened as a museum on September 10, 1990.
Today, over 40 percent of America's population can trace their ancestry through Ellis Island.

Wings for Paris - Red Bull in France
On April 1, 2008 Swiss basejumper Ueli Gegenschatz jumped off the Eiffel tower to promote the introduction of the Energy Drink "Red Bull" on the French market. The French trial motor bike specialist Julien Dupont presented a show on the triangle shaped roof of the CNIT center building. Besides the spectacular jump and the trial bike show 150 "Wings Teams" (Red Bull can styled Minis) from around Europe circled around the Arc de Triomphe. After the "show" the passengers got free samples of the Energy Drink.

Red Bull Stratos - Launch site in Roswell, New Mexico
