Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay
The 2008 Olympic Torch Relay takes place from March 25 to August 8, 2008. At first the torch will get lit by the sun rays at a special ceremony in Olympia/Greece. Afterwards it is brought to Beijing to start a journey through the whole world. Most of the time the torch is carried by runners.

Solarpark Waldpolenz
Der Solarpark Waldpolenz in Brandis bei Leipzig ist die derzeit größte Solaranlage der Welt. Das Sonnen-Kraftwerk befindet sich auf einem ehemaligen Militärflughafen und ist mit einer Fläche von 400.000m² (2.000m lang, 600m breit) so groß wie etwa 200 Fußballfelder. Im Endausbau wird eine Leistung von 40 MW erzielt.

The Gumball 3000 (3000 miles) is an international rally (Motto "It's not a Race, It's a Rally") on public roads. The event takes place every year since 1999. In August 2008 the organizers celebrate their 10th anniversary. Start is in San Francisco with checkpoints in Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, a flight to Nanjing (China) and Shanghai. Goal is Beijing where the Olympic Games take place.
