The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE, "Wall Street") is the world's largest Stock Exchange by Dollar volume. It has two indexes where companies are listed: NYSE Composite Index, Dow Jones Industrial Average. The origin of the NYSE can be traced back to May 17, 1792. In 1978 the building became a National Historic Landmark.
